Beginning Acting on Film | Summer 19 | Thursday

In our Summer Session, Beginning Acting for Adults and Teens Classes condense the curriculum into a fast-paced 8 week program in which students apply our exclusive technique, Seven Pillars Acting, to the camera! In the first month, students learn or reinforce the tools and techniques, and in the 2nd month students prepare to film and ultimately shoot their scenes in the final two weeks! This class is great for newcomers to the studio because it gives you a taste of Seven Pillars Acting, and it’s ideal for students who have taken 1 or 2 courses from us in previous semesters because it will help them to APPLY what they have learned.

PLEASE NOTE: Editing is available for an additional charge. Having your scene edited allows for you to see the fruits of all your labor. For a cheaper rate, you can receive the raw footage. (Students will schedule a time to bring in a hard drive to upload scenes.) Students who do not add editing will not receive footage from their shoot! You can still get a lot out of the experience of working on set, but by adding editing or purchasing the footage you get to see how your performance comes together in a final product. Editing must be purchased at the time of enrollment. Students will not be able to add editing after class has begun.  Please allow a month for the editing process for us to get the footage back to you.

*This is a 8 week course which has a classroom cap of 18 students. If you prefer a more intimate class experience, opt for the 10 week courses, which are capped at 14 students and begin in June. 

 ATTENDANCE POLICY 

Attendance is a crucial aspect to the learning environment, so ASoOC takes its Attendance Policy very seriously. If you foresee an absence before the class starts, you MUST notify the studio via email (nova@asooc.com) in order to get it excused. Otherwise, unexpected absences are only excused for industry work (not including background work, auditions or theatre) and illness/injury with a doctor's note. ASoOC must be notified before class to qualify as an excused absence. Any other absence is considered unexcused and therefore unable to be made-up.

 MAKE-UP CLASS POLICY 

Excused absences may be made up by attending another similar class within 3 months of the absence. No other make-up arrangements or discounts will be offered.
