At the Actor's Studio of Orange County, students study Seven Pillars Acting, the latest movement in film/tv acting training, created and authored by studio’s owner, Sonya Cooke. This class focuses in on how to make committed choices from the character’s point of view. Each month, students focus on a new pillar, or foundational tool, in the craft of an actor, namely Objective, Action and Physical Life. Over the course of 10 weeks, students will immerse in the WILL of the character; they will COMMIT to the actions the character takes, and they will EMBODY these choices physically, all while having a great time! With these tools, actors will be prepared to act on film with authenticity.

This is an exclusive opportunity to study a cutting-edge technique that originated at the Actor's Studio of Orange County and is taught in academic institutions across the country. Get to know the revolutionary technique that is launching actors' careers!

Seven Pillars Acting by Sonya Cooke is required of all students taking this course. Purchase the book online.

If you want to do this course and more, opt for one of our Membership Plans to lock in the best value for your training. The more you train, the better you will act.

COVID PROCEDURES FOR IN-PERSON CLASS PARTICIPANTS
Student safety is our priority, and we want to ensure a safe place for students to come and learn. As of July 30th, 2021, we will be returning to our required mask mandate for both vaccinated and unvaccinated students. This will be implemented immediately for all classes, including all Fall semester classes, until further notice. We will keep you updated on any future policy changes.

In the case that you become ill or are tested positive for COVID, we would also like to remind you that every class has a coordinating Zoom option where you can attend virtually for the day. Please do not hesitate to use that option if you feel that you are sick or if you believe you have been exposed to COVID.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.

For any film shoots at the studio, BOTH vaccinated and unvaccinated students will be required to submit a negative Covid test 1-2 days before filming unmasked. We will still be enforcing social distancing. Film shoots will be closed, which means only actors performing and the teacher and filming assistant will be in the studio at a time, so that those acting can be unmasked. Students unable to adhere to these requirements will have to film their scenes masked.
COVID 19 NOTE:
Given the unpredictable nature of the pandemic, the studio may need to make decisions about the safety of its students by moving an in-person class online. Students registering for classes acknowledge this possibility and agree to transfer the class if/when the studio makes that determination. Students may not receive a refund or a transfer of credits in such an event.
HYBRID CLASSROOMS:
All In-person classes will function in a hybrid manner, which means that at any point a student can opt to join the classroom remotely. This will change and limit the way the student will participate in the classroom, but students will still get to learn and work in the class. Every in-person class will have a Zoom link assigned to it, so should a student need to miss meeting in-person, they can log in remotely and join the class. In the physical classroom, there will be a large screen where remote classmates will be viewable to the group. The teacher, using a laptop on a moving lecturn, will ensure remote participants can clearly hear and see their classmates during class.

PAYMENT DISCLOSURE
As always, there are no returns or transfers. Tuition reserves your spot in class; all classes fill up, so this is the only way to confirm your spot. Tuition is non-refundable nor transferrable, as class is a commitment to yourself, your scene partner, your instructor and the collective.
PAYMENT INSTALLATION POLICY
If an installment is purchased, a Recurring Authorization Payment Form will be part of the in person paperwork we will need completed. If you sign up over the phone, the form will be sent to you. Complete the form and turn it in before class starts. Without the form, you will not be officially registered in the class and will not be allowed to start your training until you have done so. A $1 charge will be made in order to ensure method of payment is valid. The value will be returned back to the card after the payment goes through. The last payment will be deducted 10/31 and 11/30.
By opting for Installment Plans, you are making a commitment to pay them as scheduled regardless of absences or attrition; it is a legally binding contract. If such a commitment cannot be made, we recommend paying for the course in full or not enrolling.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
All health related absences will be excused, with or without a doctors note. Our nonrefundable tuition policy will stand; however, if you are unable to complete the course due to illness, we are willing to transfer tuition to another class in the following semester. If you are concerned about attending class in person, we will offer online attendance (via video call.) *This attendance policy is temporary, going into effect as of Winter 2020 semester. This policy is subject to change.
MAKE-UP CLASS POLICY
Excused absences may be made up by attending another similar class within 3 months of the absence. No other make-up arrangements or discounts will be offered.
