Getting into the industry can take many years, even amongst the most trained and talented. What has frequently been the best way for starting actors to get in the door is by doing commercial acting work. Commercials are often a great way to pay the bills while auditioning for other projects. Ted Mattison has made his life and living doing commercials (as well as film and television.) A true pro, Ted has a lot to offer our actors when it comes to understanding the ins and outs of the commercial world. Training online will suit this course very well, as much of it is highly technical; plus performances can easily be filmed and shared with students.  

It's been a few years since we've offered this course, and we think this pandemic time is the best opportunity for students to get their act literally together before the industry bursts with activity again!

All in-person classes will uphold the highest safety measures possible. Classroom size will be capped to ensure room for social distancing throughout classes. Students are required to be masked the entire time. Studio space will be sanitized and the air will be circulated for at least an hour before each class to ensure good ventilation and cleanliness. In-person classes will also be touch-free. Students are responsible for printing and bringing their own scripts, so as to minimize physical contact and cross-contamination. All classes will be run in a hybrid fashion, meaning that a Zoom classroom will run throughout the class and course. Any student who is ill, has tested positive, is awaiting test results, or may have been exposed to someone with Covid-19 will have the option to join the class virtually at anytime. In the event that the teacher experiences any of the above instances, the class will either have a sub, or it will move online for a week. In the event that students at the studio have been exposed, the class will be moved online for at least 2 weeks or for the remainder of the course. In lieu of the inherent risk of training in-person, students take full responsibility for their own health, and they  waive all liability from the studio, administrators, other students, and instructor in the event they contract Covid-19 while training in-person. All students also commit to 100% honesty and accountability to each other: under no circumstances should someone come to class if they are ill or fear they've been exposed. In the event that a student is too ill to participate online, they can make up that missed session by providing medical documentation. Please see the make-up policy re: how to schedule make-ups and other terms and conditions. In the event that federal, state, or local laws prohibit the studio from holding in-person classes, the class will be moved online immediately and for the duration of the prohibited period. Students acknowledge that flexibility will be necessary when they commit to the in-person classroom. 
 As always, there are no returns or transfers. Tuition reserves your spot in class; all classes fill up, so this is the only way to confirm your spot. Tuition is non-refundable nor transferrable, as class is a commitment to yourself, your scene partner, your instructor and the collective. 
 If an installment is purchased, a Recurring Authorization Payment Form will be part of the in person paperwork we will need completed. If you sign up over the phone, the form will be sent to you. Complete the form and turn it in before class starts. Without the form, you will not be officially registered in the class and will not be allowed to start your training until you have done so. A $1 charge will be made in order to ensure method of payment is valid. The value will be returned back to the card after the payment goes through. The last payment will be deducted January 31st. 
By opting for Installment Plans, you are making a commitment to pay them as scheduled regardless of absences or attrition; it is a legally binding contract. If such a commitment cannot be made, we recommend paying for the course in full or not enrolling. 
All health related absences will be excused, with or without a doctors note. Our nonrefundable tuition policy will stand; however, if you are unable to complete the course due to illness, we are willing to transfer tuition to another class in the following semester. If you are concerned about attending class in person, we will offer online attendance (via video call.) *This attendance policy is temporary, going into effect as of Winter 2020 semester. This policy is subject to change. 
Excused absences may be made up by attending another similar class within 3 months of the absence. No other make-up arrangements or discounts will be offered.
