Having a toolbox of skills is vital to any actor. Being able to produce a monologue that is both professional and prepared is instrumental, and needs to be ready at a moment's notice. Navigating the business side of the industry is also highly important- you are your own business and you must learn to treat it as such. This is the second of three courses for the Advanced level at the studio. In this course, actors focus on monologue work and the business of acting to prepare them for life outside the classroom and inside the audition room.
To audition for the Advanced level, students must have completed at least 3 semesters of Intermediate as well as Improv, Audition Technique, Film Technique, and Voice and Speech. Contact Philip to learn more about the audition process.
Seven Pillars Acting by Sonya Cooke is required of all students taking this course. Purchase the book online.
