Acting on camera requires more than just acting skills. It is a technical art form that all actors in training should learn. Over 8 weeks, students will study set-ups and shots, learn how to interpret film scripts, understand the advantages and disadvantages to acting on camera and, most importantly, learn how to use the lens to tell clear stories. Scenes will be taped every week and watched back for critique and improvement. Students will leave the class with a clear and comfortable grasp of how to act on-camera.

Seven Pillars Acting by Sonya Cooke is required of all students taking this course. Purchase the book online.

If you want to do this course and more, opt for one of our Membership Plans to lock in the best value for your training. The more you train, the better you will act.

COVID PROCEDURES FOR IN-PERSON CLASS PARTICIPANTS
Safety is the top priority for in-person training; therefore, failure to abide by the following agreements can result in being asked to leave ASOOC/the classroom, without refund or transfer. Masks and social distancing are required for the full duration of the training. Students are responsible for providing their own masks, but the studio will be equipped with extras, and masks must cover the full nose and mouth. The classroom will also have a no-touch policy, meaning no sharing of physical materials. In the rare circumstance that physical contact or the sharing of physical items are unavoidable, time for disinfection will be allotted. The space is large enough to accommodate social distancing for all members, and disinfectant and other cleaning supplies will be readily available. In the event that a student is sick, Covid positive, was exposed to Covid, or behaved in risky behavior, they are encouraged to attend remotely for that period of time till it is safe to return to the physical classroom. If students are able to get the vaccine ahead of the training, all the better; however, it is not required. Students attending in-person are encouraged to limit their exposure to other people in the 2 weeks before the training and throughout the training, so as to reduce the risk of infection or transmission.
HYBRID CLASSROOMS:
All In-person classes will function in a hybrid manner, which means that at any point a student can opt to join the classroom remotely. This will change and limit the way the student will participate in the classroom, but students will still get to learn and work in the class. Every in-person class will have a Zoom link assigned to it, so should a student need to miss meeting in-person, they can log in remotely and join the class. In the physical classroom, there will be a large screen where remote classmates will be viewable to the group. The teacher, using a laptop on a moving lecturn, will ensure remote participants can clearly hear and see their classmates during class.

PAYMENT DISCLOSURE
As always, there are no returns or transfers. Tuition reserves your spot in class; all classes fill up, so this is the only way to confirm your spot. Tuition is non-refundable nor transferrable, as class is a commitment to yourself, your scene partner, your instructor and the collective.
PAYMENT INSTALLATION POLICY
If an installment is purchased, a Recurring Authorization Payment Form will be part of the in person paperwork we will need completed. If you sign up over the phone, the form will be sent to you. Complete the form and turn it in before class starts. Without the form, you will not be officially registered in the class and will not be allowed to start your training until you have done so. A $1 charge will be made in order to ensure method of payment is valid. The value will be returned back to the card after the payment goes through. The last payment will be deducted May 15th.
By opting for Installment Plans, you are making a commitment to pay them as scheduled regardless of absences or attrition; it is a legally binding contract. If such a commitment cannot be made, we recommend paying for the course in full or not enrolling.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
All health related absences will be excused, with or without a doctors note. Our nonrefundable tuition policy will stand; however, if you are unable to complete the course due to illness, we are willing to transfer tuition to another class in the following semester. If you are concerned about attending class in person, we will offer online attendance (via video call.) *This attendance policy is temporary, going into effect as of Winter 2020 semester. This policy is subject to change.
MAKE-UP CLASS POLICY
Excused absences may be made up by attending another similar class within 3 months of the absence. No other make-up arrangements or discounts will be offered.
